At Gear. UNIFORMS + PROMOTIONS, we specialise in high-quality branded merchandise and custom uniforms. With 20 years of industry experience, Sophie Gear and the team have built a reputation for making the branding process easy, stress-free and genuinely enjoyable.

  • Sophie

    Knows the merch world inside out.

    Sophie has spent 20+ years in uniforms and promotional merchandise, working with businesses, schools, clubs and organisations across New Zealand.

    She’s the one to talk to when you know exactly what you need, and especially when you don’t. Product sourcing, custom manufacturing, uniforms, merch ranges, weird requests, big rollouts and the “I saw this somewhere, can we make one?” jobs all land here.

    Sophie gets to know the brand, works out what will actually suit the job and pulls all the moving parts together.

  • Daniel

    If the artwork needs sorting, Daniel’s onto it.

    Daniel is a multidisciplinary graphic designer with 15+ years of experience across print and digital, with a background spanning both creative design and production artwork.

    He can clean up a logo that’s seen better days, get supplied artwork production-ready, create apparel and merch designs, or take an idea and turn it into something we can actually print.

    And his eye for detail is ridiculous, which is exactly what you want before your artwork gets reproduced a few hundred times.

    Just don't tell him you got ChatGPT to help your design.

  • Christine

    Christine has a knack for finding the most efficient way to do pretty much anything.

    She’s practical, ridiculously detail-focused and very good at looking at a job, spotting what could work better and finding a solution.

    She also makes a mean system. If there are too many steps, something keeps getting missed or there’s a smarter way to organise it, Christine will find it.

    She’s the person making sure the details are right, the job keeps moving and we’re not making anything harder than it needs to be.

    Also an elite cook and baker, which has absolutely nothing to do with merch but is very important to team morale.

  • Laura

    Keeps us accountable, organised and moving forward.

    Laura comes from a COO background and has a very low tolerance for doing things the hard way.

    She keeps us accountable to our online systems, spots where processes can be tightened up and has helped take our paper use from piles of job sheets to virtually none.

    She’s big on making sure the systems behind Gear. actually work as the business grows.


    And if Sophie tries to print something that absolutely does not need printing, Laura knows.
